Ill probably be using Win7 as long as I used XP unless Win8 is really special / stable.

In Microsoft follows the same trend, then this OS will bomb and it won't be till the next generation that will be any good. Example.... Starting from Windows 98, "95 was good I give them that", Windows ME terrible, XP good, Vista terrible, Windows 7 good, Windows 8? yet to be seen.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the whole metro thing. If I want a tablet like experience, I will use my iPad.

Some interesting reading that help me out when I first started. http://forums.perpetuum-online.com/topi … ing-guide/

You also have a military guide at http://forums.perpetuum-online.com/topi … y-one-ger/ , but it sounds like the first one will be more to your liking.

Welcome to the game! I basically did the same thing, but I subbed the day I created my account lol. These days most MMOs cost more then the $10 that PO is asking and if the game does give you some enjoyment, then why not? Shoot, I spend at least $50 on gas on my truck a week, but that is another story. Anyway, welcome to the game and your next step will be to find a nice corp with similar interest to your style.

I don't see what the big deal is about Google +, it basically another Facebook. With Facebook being so popular these days, Google will need a lot more then just sticking there name in front of something to make it a contender in the whole social networking market.

My main combat bot is a Baphomet which is a Thelodica Clan assault robot. It also my biggest bot since I'm still rather new to the game. You will find out quickly that it can be a challenge to pull just one rat out of a pack, so the ability to take a few more hits in an assault bot is great. Light bots are viable, I was able to complete level 1 missions just fine, but I found myself retreating a lot more to repair in them.

Location, Location, Location. Outside of T4 and some T3 stuff, I can find just about everything in ICS Alpha Terminal in Attalica or Truhold-Markson Alpha Terminal in New Virginia. Independent producers in PO are going to go to popular hubs so they can sell their product. Trying to sell equipment in less active terminals can take a while and most people want to produce the product, sell it, profit, rinse and repeat.

Switching gears a little bit to ore instead of equipment, I like to mine in a less populated area and it great. I have no problems finding ore but when it comes to selling it, it takes me about 20 minutes to reach a “popular” terminal to sell my ore, and as Winter stated above, the only fix to the open market is having a bigger community and expanding outside of main hubs to sell. Something like this will just take time.

By the way, you mention slaving yourself to some megacorp for equipment but that isn’t the case. PIE for example has helped me out quite a bit and we are far from mega.

Would be interesting to read perfect's reply to this topic five months after he created his account, but it looks like he moved on.

from 1.5 hours mining liquizit with two agents we got two P10 Dyrepriton, several triliquizit of all qualities and some stermonites.

Sounds about right, I wasn't really paying attention to the time but two loads full of titan in a sequer "160v" I got two P10 Dyrepriton, few Titan-50 of different level of purity, and one H2DT P10.

On the trial accounts not opening private conversations I'm assuming this won't stop someone else private convo'ing me as I was talking to a player last night in a convo he started and it was working fine, he did mention that I wasn't supposed to be able to reply but I was lol

You are correct sir. My first day in game I had a GM open a private conversation with me which surprise me. The GM just wanted to know if I had any questions or needed help. That same day, my first day on trial I subscribe. When you have a GM that takes the time to do that it shows that they care about the player. Anyway, welcome and I hope you enjoy the game.

Thanks for the guide! Questions as a new miner, I'm sure help could answer this, but this is a good question for the guide. I'm mining in my Argano and looking at the industrial tunings module. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like I can fit an industrial tunings due to cpu/reactor cost with out giving up one of my mining lasers. Is that right, or am I missing something?
