Go to your perpetuum folder and copy it to some other location on your computer. And then drag a new shortcut to a desktop from that other folder and name it appropriately. Then you will be able to run second client. Its as simple as that. Nothing else is required.

NPC bots roam the area, last night I was 700m away from NPC bots and one of them moved towards one of my characters from 700m. And it kept doing it again and again. Some NPCs have very large aggro radius. Not locking radius, but they can 'see' you from very far distance move towards you, lock on and kill if you don't move.

Yur company sux! I waited my cherectar for a week. AD on yur website saz U delever me levelded charictar in on week after I give money. I give U my asswrd, I pay with my mom see see and U change my passwrd, U asian morin! Gimme back my cherectar! Morder furder!

This game has haulers, miners and fighters. They should cater to all groups of players. Miners and Fighters have all the robots up to the heavy mechs, haulers basically have only ONE bot. I am not sure its very fun to just play ine ONE bot all the time, but many people do it. We need something around mech/heavy mech tier to haul more. 200AU still sounds better than nothing or 80. Bot doesn't need to be bigger than 1 tile. Build it up if can't make it wider. Give us some fat mech that carries some kind of box modules on its back and front. Build it up if you can't build it in width.

I have verified today that my speed while local is around 20Mb/sec and around 11Mb/sec with Budapest. Upload is around 2.3Mb/sec. My ping in game still ranges 130-200+, when its 200+ I usually start to rubberbend and 'follow stop'. In MMO ping of 120 shouldn't be a problem at all. I think that this game along with graphics engine also has pretty crippled network code. Moving the server out of Budapest or hosting it somewhere with good link I still consider as a possible way of improving gameplay for people who experience problems.

I think you have your Mb and mb mixed up.
The Game
You probably have a 20mb/s connection, which turns out is 2.5Mb/s.   Hm, nvm you said upload, but still a 20mb/s is a pretty fast connection these days, and a 20Mb/s one would likely be for a business big_smile
The Game
I get a pretty constant 170ms ping from Florida, USA.  Never see any hitches when crossing nodes unless I cross them back and forth many times quickly.  I have a 20mb/s down and up connection.

No haven't mixed anything. Mb/sec = Megabits per second, thats the speed traffic is measured. If you want real MegaBytes you have to devide than number by 8 and you get approximately how fast your connection is in Megabytes. So my 20Mb/sec connection can pull 20/8=2.5Megabytes per second. My connect with Budapest 11Mb/sec = ~1.4 Megabytes per second.

Unfortunately even with a good connection speed the amount of time game packets reach my client is still too long - 150ms. And this is directly related to the location of the server. While I may not have these big problems like a Purgatory its enough to make me rubberbend from time to time and I also know that this rubberbending is related to how good connection game server sits on. Like I said before 150-200ms should be completely fine for MMOs, the problem is either in game's network code or somewhere in between. I think that when 2 big groups of players meet in Beta lands it affects other players.

I don't have permanent lag, I have some hiccups from time to time. And it annoys the heck out of me. I am trying to automate my bots so that they can follow each other and when I get a hiccup they stop. Not sure I will be playing PO for long if they don't fix this annoying problem. And I kinda doubt they can fix it without having a separate server for US located players hosted somewhere in states. Which they were supposed to do in the first place - have 2 servers, one for US, one for Europe...

GMs and DEVs are talking about making player/corp owned constructable structures. I think it will be a few months before we see anything new. And considering that they were also using word "expansion" at the same time - it may be even longer. Their primary concern, again based on their words is server stability and performance. I think by the time something really happens, if ever, server will be quite empty. I don't want to sound like a troll but considering how many people were in game right after release and how many are now - its a fact that more people are leaving then joining.

A lot of kids went to play Cataclysm, which means that many accounts won't be renewed next time their billing cycle is over. There is nothing really interesting coming out for the next 1-2 months so people may come back but I am not sure Avatar already has something brewing in their pot of new content. I mean it may be brewing alright, but it may continue brewing for a while until something usable actually comes out of that pot. Devs in MMOs usually try to release something to keep high level players in their MMOs. I think by the time majority of players are in Mechs/heavy mechs devs may have SOMETHING out.

But if you want my opinion I think things will be advancing forward with a very slow pace. Thats how it usually happens in games developed by small companies. I don't see Avatar releasing updates every month. Its usually impossible with such a small dev team. But they made a good game just 10 of them so who knows maybe they have some miracle machine working for them. wink

Devs do you plan to look into this or missiles for some reason need to be weaker than other weapons?

Yeah looks like you got a real one there. I have spikes to around 250 sometimes but only results in a 'auto-stop' and some light rubberbend if I push my bot with W key. I still think that placing a server somewhere in Central Europe would help both Europe and US players with better latency...

Probably one of the most organized Corps in PO. Haven't been a member for a very long time but will most likely stick to this group. Quite a few people are on during the middle-late EST times, scheduled PvP/PvE events, development is very organized, people have focus and very broad goals. Leadership values the most what is most fun for members not how many useless outposts we own. Great bunch of people.

If you like PvP - <Death Watch> will be a fun group to hang out with during regular roaming events. Like to PvE the heck out of NPC bots - we hunt for kernels and equipment during PvE events. If you want large scale alliance based PvP - Axe always stands by the alliance corps and participates during the intrusion events. If you have a goal in PO and looking for well organized corporation - look no further. Battleaxe is your best choice.

Higher linguistic extension could help. Train it at least to 5, it should give you 25% bonus smile.

I wonder how the devs plan to implement the new constructable player owned structures. If they plan to fit the same SAP mechanics on them it won't be any better. Corporation owned structures supposed to give a full access to an owning corporation to - restrict access on entrance, use stations, dock, make it home etc. If those new structures are similar to outposts where everyone can walk in, make it home, crap inside and leave unnoticed - its a waste of time. Avatar was able to copy EVE so well but missed the very important game mechanics that promotes corps to own the outposts. New structures need to have all these missed features, otherwise there is only as much point to own them as corp defines for themselves.

Guys, this is a game right. But you not saying that this is impossible. If I hauled my *** for all this stuff for 2 hours and you will get it for free? NO. Why? Because I have explosives placed all over my cargo compartment - if I see that situation is dare - I will blow up all my loot so you don't get anything. Every ship in sci-fi and whatever has this feature - self-termination. I see that there is no way out for me - so I, as a rightful owner of my *** - have a right to destroy it - in result - you get crap LOL. Its sort of a relief for me that you blew me up but at least you won't get anything. Mehehehehe.

You can destroy stuff in EVE too can't you? I never tried, since I didn't think about it. Now if I am about to blow - I am destroying all my cargo. THANKS FOR THIS AMAZING IDEA! lol

A lot of people talk about wanting a bigger world, more islands. There is 300 people on and you want 15 islands? Devs said that they will add more islands when there is more players to play the game. At this point they are working on player/corp owned constructable structures. But I do think that Avatar Creations lacks either experience or imagination though. It almost feels like a group of kids who used to have fun in EVE decided to createa their own niche game in Mech world. This game doesnt feel like it has a solid base, even though its enjoyable for now...

Guys, relax about calling me names. cool

US or Central Europe. I mentioned that in a second paragraph and I said US because that particular server hosintg company is in US. It was just to give a point... If Avatar is so limited in budget and can only afford 1 mixed server for both US and Europe then it has to be hosted somewhere in the middle or at least through a better Internet Provider. The perfect solution would be to have separate US server for people from this side of the world and have our accounts seemlessly moved.

I've never had any problems playing EVE and they are foreign company as well with one mixed server...

I made this account last night. I also made some mistakes. Tried to correct them. Which made things worse. So what did I do then? I rolled an Alt thinking I could start over. That was an even bigger mistake.

This is all wrong. I am brand new to this game and I am now somewhat paralyzed or severely limited.

Yeah, I know in a few days it will start to get better, but now, it's tough.

Yes, I screwed up,but now, I know better.

I am still stuck.

There really needs to be a better way to do this. Even a reset button. Something that I should be able to do to get back. from early mistakes.

6 months from now, I'd say I should eat my mistakes like this. But at this stage, with the limited EP, small mistakes have huge impacts.

Just keep running transport missions, or mine, or farm kernels until you get some more EP and forget about made mistakes. You can't really make mistakes in PO. Every skill you train will come in handy .. some day.

...Right now, I am pretty much forced to create a new account and buy again. Which shouldn't be necessary....

Maybe thats their whole idea...

It will always be a blob v blob. No matter where you go any MMO you play if PvP is not instanced it will always be a single target gank by a blob.

Here is the only and the fastest way to win:

Someone calls out few priority targets, people lock on and then start ganking targets one by one. Whoever manages to do this faster - wins. Either its a LOTRO or Pepretuum Online or EVE Online - more skilled gankers always win.

The only solution for instability that blobs create in game:

Have a designated server for PvP active areas. Instead of hosting everything on one server - PvP areas need to be separated into their own virtual sessions with separated Network tunnels. That way alpha islands wont be affected by the lag that massive groups of PvP blobs create by eating the server side bandwith.

If you don't like blob mechanics and want organized PvP - then it has to be forced into groups performing objective based tasks - warzones like in SWTOR for example. It will always be stable, won't affect anyone on Alpha islands and groups / squads sizes can be adjusted based on devs preferences.

Devs need to learn about virtualization if they are not using it already. They need to have a good powerful mainframe that hosts their virtual servers. And it would probably be better to host PvP side on a different mainframe to not affect PvE islands performance at all.

If Avatar Creations finds some funding some time soon they will most likely do something, until then we'll have to suffer the rubberbending and enjoy blob v blob PvP.
