Well...most of us old timers saw this time coming. It was inevitable but I personally am sad to see it happen. I had a lot of good times in this game and it has a great platform to build on.

Thanx devs for all your hard work and for doing what you can to keep this game alive. Who knows, maybe it will be resurrected! Until then everyone stay safe and have fun.

P.S.  Ville, I don't know who he is either, lol smile

PvE content has been missing for some time and a BIG reason, I believe, why we can't retain players to stay in the game for any length of time.

Gamma/PvP takes money and/or a corp that can fund/support you.

Bottom line, without PvE content/drops there is no viable game to get players to end game content.

Ville you are so right! lol

No worries Zoom, after I seen masses drive to Albion, I can assure you there is still a massive population of gamers who care nothing for graphics.

I can tell you that converting all the current assets to another engine would take a lot more than doing an engine that we can shape how we want.

Also, just read the headlines here and see what a 3rd party engine can mean for a small MMO if something goes wrong.

But this isn't about the 3D engine, this is only about a new interface layer, which already has a working prototype. It still needs months of development to actually integrate it and do the skinning etc., which is why it has been suspended for now.

Very seldom my scarabs are not filled to the brim. Even if allowing them to haul more means making them say...slower. Still would be worth it. Or make a BIGGER bot for hauling, more expensive, harder to make and slower. It would be a juicy target on beta...

I think the devs are moving in the right direction!  I remember those sunny Nia days where the landscape was filled with hundreds of players (Yes, I have been playing for a very long time). To see those days again would be so good for the game. Once again your spot on Ville!

+1 Money spent on DLC packages

So much of the game was changed since this video was done!

I must admit, you guys know how to grab a players attention in a thread and not let go.  Sometimes its more fun than playing the game!:o

Having trouble logging in at times as well. Having trouble with lag at times, then DC, then trouble logging back in.  Takes several times before successful.

I agree Annihilator!  A lot better loot should drop from rare spawns.  More beacons, T4, T4+, something.  After all they are "rare".  Loot should reflect the fact that I killed one.

I have not seen a rare T5 Spawn since the Alien Improbability device presents were given to us in station. I have been kernel farming all day and have not seen any at all.  Have they become even more rare? Someone correct me if I am wrong.  Devs is this a bug?

I inquired about this in General Chat and others have not seen any T5 spawns as well...

Grem, you helped make this community better.  It was fun playing with ya.  Your work on the podcasts will be missed.  Good luck in your future gaming endeavors!

Always great listening to you guys and your perspectives!  Well done.

So very true!

Everyone wants their cake and eat it too.  Players do not want to work for it anymore.  Its that way in real life too, why should gaming be any different!?If players think outside of the box and get rewarded for it, cheers to them!  Call me old fashioned I quess.

Gamma wipe will be good for this game and quite frankly not needed in my opinion. If player owned stations and terraforming are needed, then add them to beta islands if that is possible!

Some of you were not around in the early days when beta islands were fun and there was plenty of PvP to be had by everyone! STC was created at the end of the hay days and have aspired for greatness like in the days of TOG, MORTE, M2S and CHAOS. With continued perserverance and leadership STC will get that chance, but only with a bigger player base.

What this game needs is more player base and the rest will fall into line.  Hopefully Steam will be the games saving grace.  But the new player fixes will have to help, without retention of new players there is no game to sustain, I believe they will. Constantly trying to fix things that are not broke will not help.  Adding Gamma at a time when the player base was very small did not help matters and only seemed to isolate everyone which actually took away PvP.

The developers work hard on the game, sometimes I think too hard but I like their tenacity! Look at all the patches and FREE updates they have made and the effort into making the game better. Dev Zoom, I love your signature from Bill Cosby, it is so true of the gaming community nowadays.

This game is great and has so much potential.  I have been playing since before the game released.  If I have to give up assets and money to make it all work, that would be fine.  Acquiring 1 billion in NIC in a matter of weeks for veteran players is no really large task to complete, it beats having no game at all to play.

Like many of you I am keeping my fingers crossed and putting my faith into the developers hands who have all the information, and knowledge to successfully carry us through the highways of Nia...

I predicted this months ago!

Nice job guys!!

...and Gremrod you told me less than a week ago you had no plans on doing another one of these podcasts after I suggested it.  As usual, good job!

Bump.

I will continue to play and add PC time to my account!

Yes, I agree with Ville, some of you need to re-read the dev blog to completely understand the changes.
