I think it's stretching the truth a bit (Kind of like F2P games advertising being, well, F2P), but nothing to warrant this level of dramaqueening.

There's a link to the blog anyway to explain it in detail.

I don't understand this either, why would you ever need a T4 geoscanner or geoscanning extensions if an Arkhe would have 100% accuracy from the get go? And new players even get an Argano at the end of the training missions.

You could make the tech levels increase something else than accuracy...for example:

- Range (Maybe going from 20-30m on T1 to 100m on T4)
- Decreasing CPU usage (Against the general scheme of T4, I know, but quite a good upgrade especially on mining bots)
- Cycle time (Subtle convenience change)
- Amount of loaded charges (Save cargo space, convenience)
- Material levels (Require higher tech level to detect Epriton/Colixium? Possible blocking issue on tech tree, but a minor problem at this stage of the game)

Or whatever else I couldn't come up with.

EDIT: I'm talking about scanning for ore. Artifact scanning is fine as it is.

Am I the only one thinking they're just repeating their mistakes here? While it's an improvement over the old subscription model, this is just going to end up being multiboxing galore, which will again be repulsive for new players.

While every alternative have their downsides, I would've suggested making the game entirely F2P (no purchase needed) but limiting each player to 1 account (IP address limitation, probably?), with a possible exception made for veteran accounts to ensure nobody gets kicked in the balls after spending a thousand eurodollars on this ***.

It's simple , just remove the BONUS : " Accumulator recharge time " and tyrannos will become balanced.

I'm not sure what kind of idea it was to put that on a green bot in the first place...While at it change the goddamn falloff bonus on the Kain =p

when will this be ?

less than 30 days ?

Soon™

Seriously though, they're plotting something, conniving even. I'd think we'll see some sort of announcement later on about a patch

If you show me one way to get 1 Shielded Tyrannos down with 2 Kains, I agree, that Tyrannos is not overpowered.

2 Kains can carry 4 neuts/drains to deal with Tyrannos shield. Same for 1 ERP Kain down with 2 %mechname% btw and for 1 Armored Arte...oh wait.

So based on such scheme, Shielded Tyrannos is not that OP, same as ERP Kain (this one is even more affected). Sadly we don't have anything similar for Artemis but that's a little different.

Root of the problem is, that there is not that much Ictus pilots still, and not everyone can bring one each time - they are expensive and fragile, as every other EWar, and since neuts are affected by LoS, and shields are affected by neuts - they are even more fragile than other EWar Mechs.
On other hand, if you will fit your fleet with neuts/drains to deal with shields/ERP, it will make your forces weaker against other types of enemies because of DPS sacrifice - without bonuses, your neuts/drainers will be not that effective as they should be. Oh, and yes, your accu will be dry much faster so you'll become even more weaker unable to shoot/repair yourself.

Such things are hard to balance - you can't just force ppl to level Ictus, and in some cases, you can't afford yourself to risk them. Probably solution can be, says, increasing Ictus survive abilities, like increasing shield bonus to 5% per level, or decreasing accu usage of neuts/drainers, or even make neuts (and neuts only) unaffected by LoS again, and FFS where is my AoE neuts?

And give resists tanking more meaning, it's not that good atm.

How about just making shields vulnerable to weapon fire?

Why, area based is still useful that's how I used to find ore in the old days. Found it more involving, remove directional it's too easy now.

Without directionals it would be a PITA to find any ore with the random spawns we have now. Before it was acceptable as you only had to do it once, but now you'd have to go for a 1 hour scanning run each time before mining.

Honestly in my opinion all area based charges should just be converted into directionals.

this means, AC has time until end of august to add FUN PvE to the game, so new player will stay longer then 3 days?

whohoo, and finally an official use for the perpetuum group on steam wink

Yes Devs:
You probably already know, even if you advertise it will not be very helpful in the games current state.  You MUST improve the PVE areas, it is critical!!!  No one is going to stick around with how it is now...  just not exciting....(I am a fresh new player stating this)  I really like this game, I am new and I hope the best for the success for this venture, so get the updates going, make the PVE content fun!

Devs have already said they're now working on PVE content, so there should be more goodies later.

In any case, I see it's required to post some video & screenshots of Perpetuum to get in there, perhaps we could have a little bit of a screenshot competition for this?

Personally I prefer a utilitarian approach to maps, but I have nothing against a toggle for this alongside the passable terrain toggle(or just make it look prettier?)

Bamp!

Still need moar pilots. We've shifted into a pure EU corp, with the exception of a nightshifter US guy :Y

Come say hi in channel "STD".

I love Mechwarrior. I hate transformers.

STD (Stardust Crusaders) is a recently formed corporation. We do not intend to become the biggest corporation, and rather focus on forming a small, tight-knit team.

We are currently based in Hershfield, although this may change in the future. We are not afraid of running operations in Beta, nor should our candidates.

We are mainly operating on the EU timezone.

At the moment, we are looking to recruit:

- Industrial pilots. Miners & Builders
- Pvp/combat pilots. Not afraid of getting their hands dirty.

To contact us, you can either message "Dredi" or stop by our public channel, "STD".

Is this project still running? I would like to offer my help with this.

Please contact me ingame as I don't read the forums daily.

EDIT: Looking at Shrike's profile, seems he quit a long time ago.
