Topic: Test server up again

After a longer break the test server is open for business again.

Don't get too excited yet, only two new things can be tested:

  • A solution for the teleport limbo issue. We found a way to practically go back to the old method after all without screwing up the whole underlying code foundation, so this means that when you teleport (or log in, deploy, enter the zone in any way) your robot will be immediatelly put on the terrain and doesn't wait for the client to load. Due to this we have doubled the current protection+instability effect combo from 20 to 40 secs. Please try to break it (any combo of login/dying/teleporting/logout you can think of) and tell us if the timer should be more.

  • You can't follow (approach) a robot that you have locked and follow will break if you start to lock a robot that you follow. This is only half of the followbot nerf, the PvP-flag condition is not in yet. (The error that you get is not translated yet, this is known.)

Also the test server runs with a fresh client which had some crash fixes and small optimizations, basically just tell us if anything seems to be broken compared to the live client.

Usual stuff applies: don't install into your live Perpetuum folder, but after installing you can copy over your live local.gbf to import your GUI settings.

That was done because of the plasmabomb logintrap-terrorism, and we can't really make an exception, it's for all deployables.

Wouldn't making it so, if any party flags up at anytime they drop follow, be a bit...better?

Yes.  Follower or Followee flags must disable follow or I already broke it.

Can you adapt molecular instability in reducing it to 20sec to improve quality life to newbies in alpha ?

40 seconds is too long for docking if you forget something or don't active the correct bot.

Impossible to use teleporter beacon , i get a "server error".

Hm, Heliaso makes a great point.   Can we do what he suggested?  For all alpha terminals and Alpha to Alpha gates?

Also you cant dock with a PVP flag, and when you die your bot dies and does not come back.

Please change to the other way.

I think he wants that for test server ONLY.
