Topic: Please, please please for the love of God...

... can we have stacking in field containers.

There are umpteen other requests on this I know but lets all shout here, shout now and get the Devs to do it.

There's no game play issue that is compromised by allowing it as far as I can see and it really can't be that hard to program can it?

Re: Please, please please for the love of God...

Make us able to add containers/folders inside field containers, similar to personal and corporation storage.

Field containers don't work like other containers, so unfortunately it is.
The best we could do now is that items would auto stack if you put them into a field container, but no manual stacking or unstacking is possible.

That would be splendid if you could. I've only ever really desired stacking personally, not unstacking. Not sure whether others are the same but I would guess so.

Re: Please, please please for the love of God...

Agreed, automatically stack a container's contents.

While we're at it, I'd replace the damage percentage on dropped modules with a fixed category (red, yellow, white - 25%, 50%, 75%) and have those stack (everywhere) too.

Alright, autostacking will be in the next patch.

that idea is accualy quite old big_smile

it would make things quite more easy. as long as the devs dont plan to use the dmg on items for any other purpose then droped loot. (steve has the overheat system. not saying we need something like that as well, but there are plenty of other things that you could do where fitted modules can be damged and need a finer scale then 25%)

Does this mean that when I have more ore in my can than my Scarab MK2 can hold, I can't haul it?
If so, autostacking is not a good idea.

You can still split the stack when you take it out, like now.

I just happened to have created a topic for this as it's also one of my early day ideas...i bet there is still a thread burried deep somewhere smile. It's kind of obvious to do, and still highly desirable today. And it blends perfect with auto stacking in containers.

Found it, migtht be interesting so to read what was said then:
