Topic: Missile turrets and balistic flight path

well we figured that out long ago, but i was just rethinking this.

missiles from bots are fired in a balistic bath. that means they angle upwards when fired.

missile turrets angle straight to the target. yes they adjust a bit upwads after launch, but this still negates a lot of their terrain benefit the bot launchers have.
i think this even got worse with the adjustment in missile flight speed.

any info from the devs if its working as intened that missile turrets basicly lack the main bonus from missiles: the ballistic flight path and ability to shoot over hills and smaller obstacles.

Re: Missile turrets and balistic flight path

There is no difference in the flight path calculation of turrets and missiles on robots. I think the perceived difference can be attributed to the fact that turrets are usually shooting from up above to targets below its level, so the calculated path doesn't need to angle upwards at the start. If you shoot with a robot at the edge of a cliff to a target below you'll probably get the same result.

Re: Missile turrets and balistic flight path

will put that to some testing when i find a bit time for it.
