Topic: Builds Do Not Kill...

Why on earth when planning a building down, why doesn't it kill the plants, why do we have to kill them.

Logically, building a massive structure would kill all the plants in the area.

A quick fix would be to remove this little feature.

-1 bad idea.  You should have to clear and get basic terraforming correct prior to placing a building.

lol @ Ville you just -1 everything for the sake of argument.

I have been terraforming for a long time now... if you spend longer than 1 to 2 hours terraforming then plants may have already started to grow back in areas that you have just terraformed.

or slow down the deco plant growth time

or just make all plants harvest able even if we cant use the materials from them yet.

Tux are you even familar with normal construction process?  Prior to even beginning construction the area has to be stripped of top soil and unsuitable materials to allow for even settlement of the structures allowable load.  Even the most basic of structures can't have organic material underneath them prior to construction for the sake of settlement.  If anything the games pretty much being dead (even for accidental purposes) on of how it acts in the real world.  I for one like this feature and it adds to a bit of realistic building play.

Seriously? RL and games don't mix well. You even mention how dead the game is due to this stupid realism BS. I'll call this a troll. Just in case I';ll give u the benefit of the dumb doubt.

Its fine, the Dev's are human too, its not like they don't know politics have a play in topics and responses.

Stop being Lazy and wanting a "Iwin" button.  Use some common knowledge gets some friends to show you how to do it and get it done.  It's fine the way it is.

Back on topic, its basically as Tux said, when you terraform yes all the plants do die, however If you wait more then a hour (usually) plants will re sprout.

This is basically the problem of which I'm referring to, I would like a simple change of when placing a building it will simply kill the plants.  I don't want is having it be easier to terraform.

Isn't the concrete layer there to stop plant growth? I would imagine it not being very expensive for buildings only.
