Topic: STC's fifth month in Perp.

Seems it was quite a feisty one ...

Re: STC's fifth month in Perp.

It was rather short, imo.

Re: STC's fifth month in Perp.

"The lessons learned about Perpetuum during our recent wars have been significant, of course. Particularly in the effectiveness of its various specialised mechs and other bots. While many people favour the purity of damage and tank, there are some other possibilities: mechs which slow enemies from a great range, mechs which dampen or jam enemy targeting systems, and – most intriguingly – robots which “signal mask”, allowing them to move within just a few hundred metres of enemy robots before being spotted. For guerilla warfare these have proven formidable – working out how to fight them off has been one of the trickiest challenges facing our PvP players."

I knew those bastards had signal maskers.  Decent article, it could have been a bit more detailed in the political arena as it glosses over quite a lot.

I thought that too but then they're hardly going to reveal much that would hinder their future plans such us "we've mined all the ore out of Hershfield to build an army for a massive onslaught" or reveal much that could hinder their current position such as "it turns out that RG are a bunch of knob-gobblers and we should have chosen more wisely".

One thing for sure though, STC are here to have fun and don't take it all too seriously. Seems like a good philosophy to me.

As humorous a term as knob-gobblers is, I would not use that to ever describe RG.  There is a reason NC stays at 100%

Oh I see my Ninja style is very approved of! BTW Watchmaker has an interesting way of thanking people after they critique his fit by picking threw the remains. GL STC your making me log back in and I thank you and the people who paid me to kill your miners.

Re: STC's fifth month in Perp.

About a year ago, if you look back through the old posts, we were talking about the ability of new players to compete against the 'at that time' vets.

The general concensus was that after 3 months new players would be effective, and at 6 months equivalent (not equal) to players at advanced EP levels.

Keep in mind, there are some very talented players on the field, the can both increase or decrease that gap. But in general, this still 'feels' like the working theory is correct.
