Topic: No gaming site coverage/mentions for tournament live feeds/results

I was really hoping to see some coverage here as this would have given people an interesting introduction to the game.

Oh well. This ship may have already sailed.

Re: No gaming site coverage/mentions for tournament live feeds/results

No game site coverage tends to be because no one tells them it's going on.
This game could be hugely successful even in a semi-balanced state if more players would just suck it up and tell the difference between game drama and the end of the world as we know it.

Sadly Perpetuum has fallen into a spiral of decline which can only be resolved by the players and the devs working together. It's reaching a point where no matter what the devs do the community is crying out. A little imbalance used to be viewed as fun and now it's "Game Killing".

If players want to see this game do well we need to look after the new players and promote the game to them. Not tell them it's dying and that they need to leave.

If the devs do nothing they're in trouble. If the devs do too much they scare off players.

If we want to see this game recieve coverage from the MMO and gaming community we, the players and the devs, need to do something to make the game note worthy and not just another Mortal or Dark Fall.

Massively had an article with links to tournament result blog and videos.

Re: No gaming site coverage/mentions for tournament live feeds/results

Modes persistants make a short article for the patch intrusion 2.0 and for the tournament result.

Re: No gaming site coverage/mentions for tournament live feeds/results

TOR didn't get its press coverage because news sites operate on good-will, Bioware shoveled out money for the previews, ads, interviews, early sneak-peeks etc, it all churned up the hype machine.

Maybe AC just doesn't have the funds to pay for real advertising.

Personally I feel that Perpetuum's main problem is that its very in-personal, cold, distanced from humanity. People can co-relate to immortal clones, bipedal greenskinned orks, and generally any humanoid. Co-relating to a spark that is essentially a computer virus is... harder.

So far the advertisement for Perp has been pretty much "Perpetuum - Try it now!" on a red background with the logo. Says nothing, and its no wonder the player count is this low.

Re: No gaming site coverage/mentions for tournament live feeds/results

Advertisements and new blood would be nice, but ultimately useless until they figure a way to improve player retention.
