As you can see, we'll have an audience after all, so anyone will be able to enjoy the matches on site, in real time. The audience area will have all kinds of debuffs to prevent that they interfere with the matches in any way and to prevent "ad-hoc tournaments" wink

Tournament rules:

  • Team members must be in a squad, no one else may be in the squad with them except for the supervising DEVs

  • DEV Crm and DEV BoyC or DEV Gargaj will be joining the opposing squads at T-10 minutes, to validate team compositions

  • Teams will gather around the DEVs at discussed coordinates at T-5 minutes

  • Teams will enter mobile teleports into the arena at T-3 minutes

  • Teams that are late are subject to disqualification

  • Teams may not move, lock anyone or activate modules until the fight starts

  • The DEVs will do a countdown and the fight begins

  • Anyone that leaves the arena before the match ends is disqualified (except if it's due to disconnections)

  • Characters that change corporations during the tournament are disqualified

Registrations are now over, we miss one team, so one team will automatically advance to the quarter-finals without a match by random drawing.

To make all things fair: If NEX agreed, Chaos will make an alt corp and fight with them in a first round.
Members of alt corp will remain there till the end of tournament.

We have the drawing results and match times, edited into the first post.

Anyone who has timezone issues may now voice his concerns here, and we will try to move around matches as much as possible.

You can also have a look at how the arena looks here. This will be a separate, new PvP zone, accessible with temporary mobile teleports. Teleports to the audience area will be available at every major terminal on all islands.

Can we get a heads up on where the TPs will be, privately of course, so we can reduce the spy factor to nothing....

Nothing worse then having a rat reporting bot types and such while you wait for a trip to the arena.

I said from the get-go to our guys that CIR will get matched up against either RG or CHAOS in the first match. To make the joke even more pathetic, we're the only pairing where its Ally vs Ally.

I would like to inquire is it possible to withdraw from the tournament? If it's a possibility I want to discuss it with my team.

The TPs for contestants will be mobile teleports, deployed by the DEVs at custom discussed locations.

Yes we'll be livestreaming the event. If anyone is up for some live commentary, I'm sure we could work something out and put it into the stream. For commentaries in other languages... I guess you could set up your own shoutcast stream or something like that, and listen to it parallel to the video stream.

Ok... I have to ask this.....

Considering there is an audience area, are the servers capable of handling 300+ people in one area without having a negative impact on the people fighting in the tourney?

Also-- Will interference (not the audience interfering but the electronic kind) be an issue near the audience viewing area?

Also-- Need all private chat and in game email blocked for tourney. I know how some of them former eve goonies work.....lol

If you want to go sure, it's recommended that you turn off all toast messages for the duration of the match. I believe those could be the only things which could be annoying.

Can the servers handle the load of everyone being in one general area or will the hamsters die and cause us horrible lag while pew pewing it up?

Spamming convo's and emails during a tourney or big fight is a tactic that most people from the other game know. It has the ptotential to lag a client to death if enough people do it at once. Imagine if your client got hammered with 100+ convos at one time followed by 100+ emails. In the other game a team actually lost a tourney match and was eliminated because of this tactic. I don't want to see something like this happen to any team.

From your client's viewpoint the audience won't exist.

If someone uses dirty tactics like emails or chat messages to disrupt the matches, and this really affects client performance (which it shouldn't in theory), then I suppose we'll have to ban them from the game according to the EULA - and have a rematch.
