Topic: The secret to farming beacons?

I've tried artifact gathering (beta island only) I opened dozens of level 3 artifact sites, I did get 10+ beacons, none were star beacons though. I assume artifacts don't drop star beacons.

I've tried pveing, i've killed dozens of T5 elite mechs/heavy mechs, and all i've had is 1 level 3 beacon, and still no star beacons.

Meanwhile i've heard of people getting 3 star beacons in a few hours. What's the secret?

I seriously farmed 80 mill nic worth of plasma today, just from trying to get beacons from elites.

And damn, plasma is causing crazy inflation.

Make sure your not farming mission spawns.

All I can stay is that any Elite Rank 3 or above has a chance to drop a beacon.
HOWEVER there are instances of bugs where it is possible some spawns don't have the beacons in their drop table.

Also officer beacons MAY only be linked to certain NPCs and they are of a very low chance. It is possible to get Industry beacons from haulers spawns as well.

First of all :

From artifact scanning you can just get normal level 1-2-3 beacons.
Star beacons you can get JUST FROM specific npc-s, and yeah low chance etc ...

Im working on a theory that there is a much greater chance of the elites spawning in the first hour of farming.

after then, it seems to get lower and lower.

Some claim that if this were the case they would tell us, but I doubt it.

So, if you wanna help test the theory,  farm for an hour then move to another spot. see if that helps

Not quite right, I got a lvl 1 industrial commander beacon from an observer stash lvl 1 near ICS-Alpha...

The ones saying "impossible" shall not disturb the ones already doing it

Not true.

Star beacons can be found in observer stash artifacts.
