Topic: Where is Mechs locking range?

We got assault and heavy mech locking range increas.

now (with my skills, and nuimqols): assault: 300m  mech: 330 h mech: ~540
                       with t4 amplifier >               435               479               718

I need a little bit more base locking range for mechs. Assaults, h mechs can use 1 sensor amplifier, dont need more (most of time). Mechs need many times 2 sensor amplifier.

What do you think guys?

I think should be fine 600 m with t4 amplifier.

  • Tyranos:

230 M lockrange (default) + 50% (skill) = 345 M
with one Sensor amplifier =  500,25 M
with two Sensor amplifiers = 725,36 M
With nexus - 842,14 M (This is nexus t4 with 8 skill. I can't check with other/maximum skill)


Medium missile range - 300 M.
HEAT-IX range - 350 M
T4 Medium missile launcher gives +20% bonus range
+30% gives skill
Each range extendor gives +15
In MK2 tyranos with two sensor amplifiers remains 3 slots.
300 M * 1,2 (t4) * 1,3 (skill) * 1,15 (extender) * 1,15 (extender) * 1,15 (extender) = 711 M
350 M * 1,2 (t4) * 1,3 (skill) * 1,15 (extender) * 1,15 (extender) * 1,15 (extender) = 830,39 M (HEAT-IX)

conclusion - balansed.

  • Kain:

220 M lockrange (default) + 50% (skill) = 330 M
with one Sensor amplifier - 478,5 M
with two Sensor amplifiers - 693,82 M

Range of t4 medium EM gun - 310 M
Skill gives +30%
Each range extendor gives +15
In MK2 Kain with two sensor amplifiers remains 2 slots.
310 M * 1,3 (skill) * 1,15 (extender)  * 1,15 (extender) = 532,96 M
Falloff:
T4 EM gun - 60M
Kain's bonus +50%
Skill +30%
60 M * 1,5 * 1,3 = 117 M

Total range with t4 extendors = 532,96 M + 117 M = 649,96

conclusion - balansed.

  • Artemis:

240 M lock range (default) + 50% (skill) = 360 M
with one Sensor amplifier - 522 M
with two Sensor amplifiers - 756,9 M
With nexus - 878,76 M (This is nexus t4 with 8 skill. I can't check with other/maximum skill)

Range of t4 medium HCL Laser - 375 M
Skill gives +30%
Each range extendor gives +15%
Crypto ammo gives +20%
In MK2 Artemis with two sensor amplifiers remains 3 slots.
375 M * 1,3 (skill) * 1,2 (crypto)  * 1,15 (extender)  * 1,15 (extender) * 1,15 (extender) = 889,71 M
375 M * 1,3 (skill) * 1,15 (extender)  * 1,15 (extender) * 1,15 (extender) = 741,42 M (without crypto)

Falloff:
T4 HCL Laser - 100M
Skill +30%
100 M * 1,3 = 130 M

Total range with t4 extendors = 889,71 M + 130 M = 1019,71 M
Total range with t4 extendors = 889,71 M + 130 M = 871,42 M (without crypto)

conclusion - balansed.

In Russia there is a good phrase: Measure thrice and cut once.
Before entering into this forum and talk about balance, think.
Your argumentation "We need to balance because I can not do %something%" spoil the game.

If they did that max mech locking range would be 345... my optimal without extenders is higher than that sad

I think bringing that 330 base up to say 380-400 on mechs would probably even things up a bit

Thats the range with long range targetting.

Base on Tyranos is 230m locking range with no extensions.

I see no reason to increase MK1 mechs. Use MK2 and everything will be fine. Or give some good arguments.

Hunter sorry maybe I wasnt understandable. The first, your example fine, thank you to did that, because I didnt do that when I wrote that post couldn t check the exact numbers (and also didnt want that for these post).
I just saying the assaults, heavy mechs dont need 2 amplifiers for most of things NOW, after some patch, before they needed that. I dont understand really why changed the assaults and heavy mechs and why not mechs.

Most of assaults can shoot 180 m and they can lock without amplifier 300 m (with skills).
Mechs can shoot 380(just with guns) and can lock 330.
Heavy Mechs can shoot 380 and can lock 540.

Thats the problems I think, Hunter this is real balance, But I prefer not many change and really dont need that if we wont get I will play for 2 amplifier if that needed.

Why talking about Mk2? I dont know, that s is ultimate thing, you really dont use those for everyday, so thats dosent matter what they can i that case. If Chaos can you are good the queastion not about that.

If that changes was about assaults, and heavy mechs will be a littlbe bit better than Mechs thats fine. Because assaults and heavys + 1 more headslot after changes.

How about reading comprehension in Russia ? You only listed mech lock ranges but the OP was about the comparison of assault/mech/h-mech .... you forgot the other 2 bot classes in your post somehow.

Do you need only my opinion or evidence of that the increasing the heavy mechs and assaults have been excessive?

I think that this increasing assault was for beginners. Probably the task was "simplify the game for beginners?". And there was a choice: to increase the basic lock range or add slot assault robot. (devs choosed both variants)

Increasing of heavy mechs probably intended not for the players. It was for the mobs. Because heavy mobs was too easy targets.

MK1 robots you can boost with RSA.

Short: I dont like any changes but maybe some is needed but the developers did/do much time if needed. So I mainly agree with Hunter about "influence the balance" but not we changed the game many times (who want the ammo change?).

Sorry but dont really matter why was that changes, but maybe you right.

I just wanted to conversation, argument for that.
I sad we got many changes what i think didnt needed and many didnt get what we need.

The developers many timse changed the game i think we agree each other Hunter i dont like changes. Because never find the best balance so any balancing will give more balance problem. But that i think one of the some what changes wont give many balance problem. But will solution many porblem, you cant shoot out your range without nexus (check Hunter table). If these change will be you can use most of time 1 sensor amplifier > if use 2 you get quicker locking time and extra locking range what sometimes is a good tactic so the game will a bit more complex or anything.

About mobs the developers could do to Observers locking range increas so i think can do any bot too.

Anywhere you can use more range than 800 m?I think no. But heavy mechs can use also that sniper things (if I understand what do you think in mechs 1 amplifier and 4 extender or more with remote amplifiers) So i dont care.

Mechs have a longer locking range than assaults.
They also have more armour, more powerful fitting capabilities and higher Ewar resistant.
