Topic: Make beta...um beta

Can we stop babying the players and get some true "0.0" action going down.

I suggest there would be no "safe" spots on beta.
However, risk vs reward, ALL minerals (but titan) would be awesome there.  As well as,
the spawns would be farmable but there would be just a few but they are rewarded with 2x kernel drops.

Either that OR the devs just give us "new" islands, gamma perhaps, that don't cater to carebears, or cry baby's that lose a bot because they jumped into a "0.0" island.

Also if we can make it so the OP's are awesome as well...so they are actually useful.

My thoughts for making this great game....better

I've been getting enough crap from people when I tell them to read the blog. Now there's a podcast? Sooner or later I'm gonna sympathize with the lazy crazies. Important announcements/hints/etc. need to end up in the same place at some point, or at least have a list of all the places one might find such info. It's not fair to people to scatter it to the winds and expect us to find all of it. hmm

Not sure continents really fix anything apart from making us walk really far to do things. Personally, I might like to see the sort of change that has us using outposts from outside the building. Sure we can change fittings and do industry stuff, but we'd still be vulnerable while doing it.

Hm...I'm just going to assume it was a dev on the podcast.

And just for that reason I know whatever they say will not happen.
Nearly every time they "say" this is what were doing next...some "super important thing" comes up and they "drop" everything they were doing just for that.

So when a Dev says "Oh yes were getting right on that" don't hold your breath.

POS on the current islands don't make sense, but on much larger continents? I could see a point to that, perhaps this is where the devs are going with it.

The Devs will get a nasty surprise going that route...Just hope they can actually LOOK down the road more then 1 year to see what will happen.

you know that the safespots are there equalise what we can't control: NETWORK LATENCIES ???? do you realise that somebody with a close and fast connection to the servers can kill a light bot at a teleporter before the other player even loads the map ?

Hi, I have a 400-800ms ping to the server all the time. Are you telling me I can not participate in half of the game because the servers happen to be in a *** country (network wise) for me? This is not going to increase the population of the game one bit.

"I have a faster computer/network connection than you so I win" is the most *** concept that has ever come out of your mouth.

Assuming the devs are actually working on continents then the problem will fix its self (as long as they don't go super *** with the teleporters).

In eve you can catch them before they jump back.
In eve there are several stations that are throwout stations...EI: if you undock you cant redock unless you re-approach stations.

Hence there is a CHANCE to kill them.

In Perpetuum...there is no CHANCE to kill them.

in eve you have insta undock bookmarks ... anybody with a bit of a clue has them. also the stupid stations are avoided if possible.

that chance is usualy only a theory in eve and works on the clueless. thus you are asking for griefing mechanics to be implemented (at least from my POV). think about a better solution and then come back ...

The author is obviously wanting mechanics in game that allow gate campers to be successful against even the well trained, this is a garbage request and is not what beta is about. Load timers are for network issues to flow from client to server. This is normal in any online game currently worth a ****.

I would be perfectly happy with no outposts on any of the beta islands for players to camp in but there needs to be some functionality for the beta islands such as factories, and reprocessing plants or all your targets go away. The current outposts are useful as they are, are they 2x or 4x better than alpha ? NO but they don’t need to be. There will be more and better outposts later on with more reward for more risk. I’m sure when you have to run over 7.5Km from a teleport with no highway to the only outpost on an island the risk reward will be worth level 4 or 5 services at outposts. 

You may think you want an area in game to only PVP but you don’t. If they made an island with no minerals (something care bares/targets are attracted to ) you would have a whole lot of empty game space that would do nothing. This works in other games like eve because these places are designed as in-between routes. This game does not have enough islands for there to be a grievers paradise island yet.   

Making it easy to gank people does nothing to advance the game.

Come up with something original . . . or at least worthwhile.
