Topic: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

I'm happy to present to you, Profit, a new Perpetuum fitting tool.

You'll be able to create an agent, set his skills and then create a new fit for one of the available robots.

Feel free to leave me any suggestion either here or on the codeplex project discussion/issue tracker page.

Requirements :
.net 4.0 installed.

Installation :
Just extract the 7z archive in a directory and start profit.exe

Localization :
Default languague is English but it's partially translated in French. (Culture will be set automatically depending on your OS).

Compatibility:
I've tested it on both Windows XP 32bits and Seven 64bits. It is not compatible with Mono.

Download link :

Codeplex project homepage :

You can find some screenshots on the codeplex home page.

Enjoy smile

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Nice, very nice. Too bad it's .NET.

Code drops and data dumps are always welcome. lol

Suggestions:
* Always show slot placeholders.
* Add modules initially activated. (At least those that are typically active.)

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Very well done, pretty much EFT reborn for Perpetuum. Some weeks well spent.

An option to import an extension history import (.csv) from the game would be very useful.

Works perfectly fine here on Windows 7 x64, btw.

Thanks. I just implemented the slot placeholder, seems a good idea to show how many slots are availables. Will need a bit of design to make it nicer, but the idea is in place.
I'm not completely up for setting module activated by default, i'll prolly make an option so anyone can choose.

For the data, i have a csv from wich i'm generating pretty much all modules, bots and ammos classes from. Once the source code is released, you'll get them smile
For the formulas, well, some digging will be needed but the model is pretty easy.

Thanks, i'll think about that tool.

On a side note, i didn't warn about extensions conditions not being applied for now. You can pretty much do what ever you want with your extension levels without any warning about being able to use that module or bot or whatever. It will come later on.

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Nice job smile

Nice to see someone putting in the effort to help the game grow.

Also nice to see a real "PFT" after using EFT in Eve.

Please add the Kain soon! wink

still slow and buggy hmm

Our robots are made by Jesus himself with the help of MacGyver and blessed by Chuck Noris

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

I just added a new beta release with some new stuff in it.

  • Agent extensions import feature

  • Agent portrait selection feature

  • Empty robots slots layout

  • Robots and modules browser visual adjustments

  • Added robots

Add an agent portrait :
Right-click the picture then use the "Select" button to browse your local image files or copy/paste an image url. Maximum displayed size is 64px * 64px, minimum is 32px * 32px.

Update your extensions :
You can now update your extensions from the ingame csv dump. Make sure to select the correct csv file since there is no agent name in it.

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Wow! Nice work! And big bonus for it actually looking quite pretty!

Minor complaint: mouse wheel for me on the right sidebar only works over the section headings and the scroll bar itself. It should work on the whole area. Edit: applies to the bot info popups as well. (Win7-32)

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Ditto on the wow factor. Really liking the direction this is going.

It's been a long day, so I might be being thick, but....

I cannot find any Niani T3- items, eg: Niani Magnetic Weapon Tuning

Also ERP's aren't there too.

Search items would be cool.

That's it for now, nice job! smile

PS: The Windows X (close app) doesn't work and does the Settings menu open yet?

PPS: Saving the state/size/location of the windows/panes would also be cool.

Thanks,

Yes these are missing items, along with some stats and wrong tech level on shield gen/hardeners (and maybe more)

Turrican wrote:

I'll think about that

The x button works as intended, you have to exit via the menu (i may change that behavior later).
There are no settings for now, so it's just a placeholder.

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Good job Etil.

1. Weapon Tunings bonuses do not apply.
2. Universal Armor bonuses do not apply.

3. Some way of adding / subtracting skill levels to see impact would be nice.
4. Some offensive indicators like Alpha and DPS would be nice.

1 - Most of them don't indeed, atm only magnetic weapon tunnings apply bonuses.
2 - yup, even active hardeners
3 - Open your agent details and play with levels, you'll see immediat impact.
4 - indeed smile

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Beta 1.0.4257.29909

  • New version availability checker

  • All robots available

  • Updated features and modifiers values according to last game update

  • Fixed scrolling problem with robot features. (Still need to fix the same problem in the agent extension view)

  • New fittings list view when clicking on the fitting button

  • A few new features calculated (e.g Critical hit chance)

Make sure to use that new version so you'll automatically be notifed when i publish a new version.

ps : you can safely delete the modules.xml file located in the application folder if you wish, as it's no longer in use.

pps : main post download link updated

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Just a little update, it seems the file from which i was extracting modules stats and such was quiet inaccurate. I'm working on it and hopefully the next build will have correct and up to date values.

In the same time, as soon as the CodePlex guys changed my source control to Mercurial, i will publish the sources. If you know c# and want to get involved, you probably know already how to contact me.

ps : I would need some testers once the next build is out to make sure i didn't mess up with hungarian maths. smile

pps : Feel free to leave requests for features you'd like to see in the future.

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Great job! Glad someone has gone and done this..... I started one but stopped.

Thanks Etil!

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Great, thanks bigsteve.

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

I'm a fitting tools fanboy so signing for testing tongue . EFT is the best thing I ever used so I'm hoping to have at least something similar to it for Perp. Will try to write here problems I'm encountering while using subj as well as personal ideas.

- "Economical shield usage" doesn't reduce reactor usage of shield generators.
- Armor hardeners don't change anything in "Defence" when fitted both active and inactive.
- Sensor amplifiers don't change anything in "Electronic" when fitted and activated.
- Energy drainers don't give anything to accumulator, only use it.
- Please make profit save window settings\positions after exit.

Thanks for your feedback Sander,

I'm currently working on missing calculated features and supporting ammunitions (ammo part is done).

In the next feature, all user interface settings will be persisted. You will find some new features as well like the ability to import and export to a text format. It's the same format used by EFT and Sequer.nl web site.

Since, i'm not able to access perp forum from everywhere (meaning from work smile) i suggest you to use the Codeplex issue tracker. Pretty easy to use. Here is the link to create a new issue : http://profit.codeplex.com/WorkItem/Create.

I have no eta for the next release, should become available soonish.

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

Posted few things there that I've found so far. Will continue using it if I'll find anything else. Good luck with your development wink .

Re: Profit - A Perpetuum Online fitting tool

new version of profit bugs out and stops working every time I try to create a new fitting.   don't really know why.
