Topic: Reimbursement policy

Reimbursement policy

Robot and equipment losses happen all the time in Perpetuum, but there are times when these happen due to various issues or errors. In many of these cases players are eligible for reimbursements. Here are some guidelines when this is possible:

Cases where reimbursements are possible:

  • Client crashes that we can track. (Please let the automatic crash uploaders finish so we can check them.)

  • Losses happening to known client/server issues or bugs.

  • ISP problems on our side.

  • Insured robots can only be reimbursed if you are willing to transfer the insurance payout (minus the insurance fee) back to us.

  • The contents of a field container can be reimbursed when its timer ran out due to a disconnect/crash and nobody could recover it. However this process can take as long as 24 hours.

Reimbursed robots will appear at the terminal they were last at before they got destroyed, and will return with all equipment and cargo they had at the moment of destruction, except for items which have been dropped into the loot container, and with 0 HP. (Note: you will not die when you deploy to the terrain with 0 HP).

Items dropped into the loot container after destruction can be manually reimbursed with a delay, if no other player has accessed the container.

All other situatons not covered here (including lag and disconnect issues) are handled and decided upon on a case-by-case basis.

Reimbursement requests should be made through our support ticket system:

Re: Reimbursement policy

Slight update:

Reimbursed robots will appear at the terminal they were last at before they got destroyed, and will return with all equipment and cargo they had at the moment of destruction, except for items which have been dropped into the loot container, and with 0 HP.

Re: Reimbursement policy

Update, effective from today:

The contents of a field container can be reimbursed when its timer ran out due to a disconnect/crash and nobody could recover it. However this process can take as long as 24 hours.

Re: Reimbursement policy

Update, applicable for losses after 2011-09-01:

Items dropped into the loot container after destruction can be manually reimbursed with a delay, if no other player has accessed the container.

This is a temporary solution, and we'll try to automate it in the future.

Re: Reimbursement policy

Update, removed this part as practice has overruled it:

Cases where reimbursements are NOT possible no matter what:

  • PvP losses, meaning where your robot has been destroyed by another player (as opposed to being killed by NPCs for example).
