Topic: Client malware concerns

It has been brought to our attention that the client installer has been flagged by a small number of antivirus programs as malware. These hits are false positives and most probably happen because of the client self-update system we have in place.
We have contacted the developers of these antivirus programs and sent the client for false positive evaluation - this means that after the client has been checked by them it will be added to their database and their next updates should recognize it as safe.

Re: Client malware concerns

Small update: this is happening faster than we thought - fprot, authentium and sophos have already updated their virus databases. Yaay smile

Re: Client malware concerns

I updated the installer with a new version that's also reported clean by VirusTotal and contains version information. We're also working on getting both the installer and the executable digitally signed.

These are not the drunks you are looking for.

Re: Client malware concerns

I thought I would drop a note here since this appears to be an old issue however my Avast install just picked up on this today regarding the Uninstall.exe file:

If any further info is needed please let me know. I "ignored" the issue instead of submitting as a FP in case any more info needs to be gleaned from Avast.

thanks smile
