Hell will have to freeze over first
/signed Time to give it a second thought on reverting the patch which would = more contnet to players as more bots a viable, no just a few.

Just to clarify so things we don't want to get touched don't get touched by mistake. We are referring to the big balance patch from the steam release era 2 years ago. (Clarifying so heavy speeds don't accidently get un-nerfed, it really could happen with these people!)
/signed because Beastmode asked.
I've been saying this for a long time.
I also think this incident should be referred to as Alfageddon in the future.
In other news, I murdered Lolpus in Dreadnought.

After spending a couple hours looking at robot stats side by side the other night and seeing no reason to run anything but yellow, I agree. It's pretty clear the only pilots not running yellow are only doing so because they don't want to spend $200 on credits to respec. I made a comment when I first came back a couple months ago that whatever the balance changes were at least they affected everyone equally. I was wrong, and it's worse than I imagined at the time.
I also found the dev blog, the patch notes, and the spreadsheet and read through them. The comments from new players who no longer play the game decrying the patch, even pre-release, is pretty telling.
TL;DR - Yellow has 0 downsides and maximal versatility, why use anything else unless you have to? The patch did nothing to help new players, nor to make lights/assaults any more desirable, which were the stated goals. It did hurt everyone - especially dedicated enwar pilots. Also, given the logic of plates, heavies should be the ones with demob immunity not mechs.

People have hated it for a month. I said the same day it came it's the worst patch of the year, it was awful not just because of what it changed but also because of the missed opportunity. Reverting it would help but Jesus *** already do a decent patch retaking old models and unused tiers so that we have specialised tiers and robots and a lot more content. It's like two days work and then a few hours responding to feedback every week for a few weeks.
How hard is that? For these devs impossible.
Let's revert the whole game and try again. Definitely something went wrong on the way

It was supposed to buff light/assualts, when in reality it did the exact opposite. The change bought heavies king, that could do nearly everything well due to having more slots available , any class lower suffered due to lack of slots. I remember some newbies get killed on missions that they were quite capable doing them before, due to the change in balance, probably they quit in fustration.

What is being stated in forums, tickets, whatever is that EWar is too strong against Heavy mechs. But that's what it is supposed to do, otherwise Heavy mechs have no counter in-game except more heavy mechs and more remote repair.

... You're asking that the whole game balance is destroyed, entire bot-types and playstyles completely invalidated, all for the sake of you 5 guys not wanting to diversify/recruit/train other people. Head-first through a brick wall.
TL;DR
The ONLY thing needed touching was the ECM Tuning (still broken today as it was 5 years ago when it was implemented), and everything would have been fine. Instead, Alfageddon.
you ask first and then only think what happened. the players are to blame.
Seems like no way to revert it back anymore, so I think this is invalid question.
We could ask some balance change instead.
If possible

Why not?

Too much change after that, too much work to implement again the "old" balance.

Is it the coding or the balancing, I hate the too much work excuse getting used over and over. You have got to do the work to improve the game. This is not a lot of work.
Have you seen recent reviews on steam is all quite negative reviews like don't waste your money, skating robots and a god awful tutorial.
haha,
not alot of work...
try to downgrade a running win10 system after 2 years back to win7, without re-installing the whole system,
keeping all user profiles intakt without losing any data or functionality.
that with 10k user profiles, and ofc, as someon who is just a windows user, and not an experience network admin.
also...
beastmode is contracting himself there..
asking for rerolling the balance change, but then, not balance changes that happened afterwards.
so he wants to have all robots slowed by 30kph , but heavies not?
I think all of you are wrong, game is fine the way it is. The devs are truly doing a good job.
p.s. u know whats sad i feel im getting my moneys worth playing the forum game
Bro. The forums are probably the only reason I still play.

The forums are the most active part of the game

wait, there is a game next to this website?
The best thing about this game has always been the players.

I hope your joking. The players are the reason this game failed. It's appeal was to a niche and instead of making that appeal wider it pandered to that niche which got steadily smaller as the game got steadily ***.
The devs stopped listening years ago but by then not only was it too late but they were too disconnected from the realities of the game. Every change has shown how staggering their lack of knowledge is. And it was the player base who caused this, witchhunting devs and GM's to score political points in a dead game for micro millimetres of advantage. They made the devs not play and that was the end.
