Re: Wait to progress

Thats what I get for posting in the middle of the night. All the costs I mentioned are for upgrading all of them skills from lvl9 to lvl10. The actual cost of all of them from lvl1 to lvl10 is 1.336.500 EP (yes that does not include that 2880 EP you start with into calculation). All at lvl9 cost 742.500, lvl8 are 475200.
You said maxed out I gave you maths for maxed out.
Im done talking to all you trolls - cant even do simple calculations, only weapon being insults. Go copulate with yourselves.

I'm saying you don't need lvl 10 in all skills to be a max assault pilot just lvl 10 basic and lvl 10 of that race gunnery. a few supporting skills and you can easily take down targets in pvp. I dont see what your qq'ing about. Sorry you cant have 4mill ep when you start the game sorry its not eve where you can now pay to win, by draining your alt. That EP in eve comes from somewhere not thin air.

Sorry you want an I win button in a time progression game.

Re: Wait to progress

Are You saying more EP is "an I win button" ?
Clearly Eve is doing it wrong becouse 30.000 online is no match for 50.

Re: Wait to progress

clearly it is an I win button when you can in one hour and circa 100 mouse clicks sit in a fairly end game ship in eve no problems.

Have fun with your new command ship I'm sure you will be primary every time your on grid as you drain ep/sp from your alt to get armor laying lvl 5 or explosive shield hardening lvl 5 in the mean time.

I'm saying the ep doesn't  come from thin air like you want it to here.

Re: Wait to progress

Command ship being end-game? Are You kidding me? Never had problems with command ships on my main. If I get primaried then it means im doing something right for enemies to fear. Surprisingly in gangs people don`t primary the tanky stuff first tho. Also you dont need to drain an alt for injectors, theres other people doing that. Also I'm pretty sure I didn't need any form of cash transaction for that in Eve. So where is the P2W you are talking about?

So it is an "I win button" now is it? Darn and here I was thinking some player skills are involved.

Re: Wait to progress

you really are lost like a freaking politician flipflopping all over the place.

A. Skills are involved
B. Any sort of "free" EP is pay to win in a time based game^1
C. You keep comparing this game to eve when it suits you but then twist it when it doesn't. Maybe we should make a new thread on that.

B. Further explained Noob gets Eve account, Noob saw Mroq in super tanky Astarte/Claymore, Noob wants to fly like mroq. Noob purchases Plex with rl$, Sells plex buys injectable skill to finish off these Required Skills
Command Ships I
Armored Warfare V
Leadership I
Information Warfare V
Leadership I
Skirmish Warfare V
Leadership I
Siege Warfare V
Leadership I
Warfare Link Specialist IV
Leadership Level V
Spaceship Command V
(Racial) Battlecruiser V
(Racial) Cruiser III
(Racial) Frigate III
Spaceship Command I
Spaceship Command II
Spaceship Command III
For  the noob its clearly I win he got the ship he wanted with out waiting.... do you think he will be happy when he loses it?
For me command ships were always kinda end game alt accounts really no point after t3 cruisers came out.
If you dont think thats pay to win then ok please define your Pay to win plan. P2W is a very fuzzy blurry line some say its already been long crossed by eve.

Either way your ep gap isnt your problem is it. Whats really bothering you?

Re: Wait to progress

A. Glad we can agree, thing is I would like them to be more of a factor over EP advantage.
B. They certainly arn't "free" when you have to pay for it - and if it would be obtainable via gameplay then its no more P2W than getting 1billion NIC for a tenner.
C. The whole idea is borrowed from it. Trying to twist it to not look like a simple "Hey, lets have skill injectors/extractors as well". But hey, im all down to stop comparing.

EP gap isn't a problem for my Mesmers - I've spent nearly 2 years heavily focusing EP for just that, to the point of being confident about using it (with various results, but if you're here to discuss my personal affairs - bugger off). The problem is variety - if I want similar results for other robots it has a "Coming out sometime next year" dreadfull advertisement sticked to it. How many more games do you know with a time wall blocking any character progress?
Also as I already said I know people who left becouse of it. And alot of them. I only log in for a couple minutes myself now, not much to do with HM except for grinding NIC. Those few minutes a day we had encounters where heavies are viable is not enough to keep my interest in. Small gand of heavies (2-3 robots - the largest encounter I've seen for a whole month of trying to be active in PvP was 6v6 so I guess it aint "small gang") is too easily counterable and therefore costwise unjustified.
And BTW some people do not want to play tackle, EW or logi - it's an alts job.

Re: Wait to progress

Your problem is a lack of game k owledge not ep. That's what comes from not having to wait to use the 'best' stuff in game. Tackle, ew and RR are all more important and skillfull jobs than DPS.

Proverbs 23:20-21 warns us, “Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."

Re: Wait to progress

How would I know? Maybe in 1-2 years I could extend my opinion on that matter, WHEN I get EP for it. What is the difference between having 5 accounts and having all those EP on one (still regarding to "ep is P2W")?

Re: Wait to progress

OK I am literally sick and tired of Your all "vets" COWARDICE! You are simply too scared that some new player can come to the game and surpass you after You loose your EP advantage and it's all down to skills. So you just cover in your little sandbox huggin tightly your shiny robots and only allowing others to play with the crippled ones.

"The game has a nice mechanics similar to Eve with Mechs instead of space ships. Unfortunatelly even with both DLC's you are still far away from reaching the full potential of even the smallest robots. This only changes after simply waiting (and we are talking years here) and there is literally NOTHING You can do to change it"

This goes to my steam review for the game. And it is all true.

Well it's nice to spot another Aye Pod / Perpetuum alt but really at this point your trolling has become too obvious. The basis of this game is time based progression and in that it is no different to eve. Skillpoints don't make you strong, having the right logistics and knowledge does. Anyone who actually HAS the skillpoints and therefore has the ability to compare knows this.

On a wider point though if you are at the pinnacle of your abiltiies the very first day you play then what is the reason to keep playing? No game does this. You either get better through grind or by time based progression. Buying a leg up is the best a game can and should do.

Jita its clear he wants cake and he wants to eat it now. I just made an alt to test all this.... Will let you know my out come soon tm. He already seems a beasty assault pilot with 300k ep and the nasty spark can fit all t4 easily. Hope he gets his first kill soon.

I know its possible, at steam I made a bunch of 250k mk2 mech alts which is where Fricken Lazorbeams and Amarr Victor came from. We gave them to new starting players so they got a leg up.

Re: Wait to progress

Well if you talk about miner you can take a new account without DLC and fit Riv full T4 fit in first week with ~30% minerals/h compared to full fledged veteran. For one this sounds bad, for me this sounds good.

Take DLC into account and you could field Riv MK2 with skills that allow you to compete with veteran.

For Pvp you need to always differentiate. Is it 1vs1 or group vs group.
For 1vs1 it depends strongly on role. Masking eg is expensive. Mask is a lot about survive a gang on island after your 1vs1 but beeing active masking is a draw back during the fight.

Shield is also expensive, but again, shield is more important in group fight or for ewar (or to bring castel mk2 back home alive)

If you just field assault vs assault, the difference of all damage extensions at 8 vs all at 10 is not the thing that decides who will win battle. In no case

Re: Wait to progress

I think it took me around 2 months when I got my first Normal Riv, Mk2 did not even exist. I was so happy it was cap stable smile

"You can burn skill points on one character and apply them to another, meaning eve is pay to win skill points now. You can also now fund pvp ships by getting rid of all the terrible choices in skills you made, like mining or FC skills.
You can now buy skill injectors to inject SP, currently at about 600m as of April Fools Day 2016. The amount of SP injected is dependent on your total SP. 500k for <5M, 400k 5M to 50M. 300k 50M to 80M, 150k 80M+"

its a relic of the past.

Re: Wait to progress

I think any paid model is really. You need an effective FTP game with micro transactions. It's easily done in Perpetuum but they wouldn't even put a credit version of black bots and T4+ in the game, it's like they don't want money.

Before this change you could buy characters, same as buying SP , they have just made it easier. It was already pay to win, although to win in Eve you need so much more than real cash. It will get you on a level playing field faster but that does guarantee winning.

Eve is so hard to be pay to win though as it is on such a large scale. To ever do anything game changing you would need to spend millions.

Re: Wait to progress

Stopped by to tell You something I found out today. Eve will be doing daily opportunities in 2-3 weeks. Meaning there will be activities that grants you some SP every day, it's to keep people logging in (I myself took nearly a year brake from eve with 300+ days in skillqueue). Seems like they want to help new players get up to speed.
I delved back into EVE after over a month here and I am really surprised of the activities in my wormhole. New players are grinding ISK like nobodys business - I swear they got addicted to injectors lol. Theres stuff to do again big_smile No need to look into other games now.

Appologies to everyone for stirring that s**t in here. Also sorry for some of my enraged posts - not used to forums really. Walk safe o7.
