Topic: Scheduled server downtime - 2016-03-23

Server will be down on 2016-03-23 from 14:00 servertime/CET (13:00 UTC).

This will be a pure maintenance downtime because we're moving the servers back to Budapest. We estimate the downtime to last for about 3 hours.

Re: Scheduled server downtime - 2016-03-23

That was a surprise. What gave in? I suppose the services your are paying for is kinda crap.

Budapest / zooms closet is cheaper I guess.

Proverbs 23:20-21 warns us, “Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."

Re: Scheduled server downtime - 2016-03-23

surprising step...

i hope its not that server you're running the PTS on (you know, the one that is more down then up)

Amsterdam didn't really improve my gameplay, so i guess its a good step

Certainly for $10k a month not worth it at all. Save up , and develop the game further.

Yeah, the quality didn't justify the higher price.

Re: Scheduled server downtime - 2016-03-23

10K a month really?  Can't be that much.

Re: Scheduled server downtime - 2016-03-23

It might be my provider but I feel higher latency (= more client freeze) when client has to load data from sever while ping is still same as always

Re: Scheduled server downtime - 2016-03-23

No differece

Re: Scheduled server downtime - 2016-03-23

Latency is about the same for me but while I'm sometimes still undocking without any protection timer left before I can see anything, at least it hasn't crashed yet *knock on wood*.

Re: Scheduled server downtime - 2016-03-23

So apparently there was some internal misunderstanding on our part. The servers are still in Rotterdam, we just reduced the number of machines as they were nowhere near to being utilized efficiently. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Scheduled server downtime - 2016-03-23

I have no clue if this is due to the reduced number of machines or an effect due to something else but Lag is getting an ugly problem.
Please do me a favor and insert 10 CTs in a terminal and start production to learn what I'm talking about.
