I have to agree. Again the rebalance could have breathed so much like in to it but it was fumbled so badly it hurts. The mission patch won't even matter, PVE is a means not an end.

They haven't missed anything.
It's much more simplier.

Marketing.

Things will be as they are now for as long as the devs will finally decide to start continuously advertise it. If they won't abandon it before that.

The game is fine. The graphics is fine, and it's not boring.
You see, EVE is boring too. It's always been boring for the most of the people (i remember it 10 years ago, when it was nowhere near the other popular mmos, not even on the list in ratings), and it's STILL boring now for most of the new players, and most of them quits after a short time. Star Trek Online is much more interesting, at least in the short-term.

But they making a stunning Trailers, huge fanfests, tournaments, lots of media and advertising. To keep players. And they're value the community the most, and always talking about it. On fanfest and in ads. Best community.

I know that some things in Perpetuum were inspired by EVE. I hope you haven't missed this important part of EVE...
