do you have so much losses each day that you need them?
Does it matter?
Just borrow more characters.
11 prototying slots should be more then enough to keep multible mass producers running.
lets do some fast calculations... :
lets say you can mass produce 1 item every 2h (normaly way higher on avarage)
with a avarage of 100p =100 items/cycles per ct.
30 slots factory
protos usually take ~1d
ct points needed per day = 30 (slots) x 24/2 (items per day) = 360p
Prototyping supplies production points = 11 (slots) x 100 (points per proto) = 1100p
so with this small thing you see that 1 prototyper should be able to supply 3 mass producer.. easy.
in reality mass production should be way slower on avarage...
i dont see the reason... maybe you see one...
reason:
running t4 isn't "pro" enough anymore, so he wants to mass produce prototypes.
also, with the upcoming ability to mass-access T4+ items, some fits may run into reactior/CPU issues.

1. If you do Mechs/HM, you need several days / proto which lasts for ~30 Mechs. That modifies calculation drastically.
2. A producer has up to 30 lines/Terminal, but not more than 11 proto lines overall. As soon as you start real mass production, it is easy to have 60-90 lines parallel

proto lines is also per terminal

Yeah but then there's all that hauling.
why not instant build things without time and ep investment?
with resources as only limiting factor.
wouldnt that be nice?

Not really, there always needs to be a limiting factor. Helps stabilize the market and keep it from crashing. It would just be nice to be able to do something while waiting on scarab cts.
Yeah but then there's all that hauling.
if you don't like the part of the game that needs you to leave the terminal, where you can be killed by NPCs or other player... you should switch to browsergames.
Dude, calm down. You ride my ball sack any harder I'm going to lose a testicle.

You deserve a quote.
But not the one we need right now.
I watch batman too much.
11 * n = Your Production needs, Btw.
I guess ammo prototypes take 2 hours but the protos I got cooking take 6~8 hours w/ some in the 2 to 4 day range.

I like this statement.
All it is, nothing more. Adds nothing to the current discussion, and zero political statement either.
Good job.
I dont think so, need more proto slots. That limit is fine.

I see what you didn't there.
The title is missing the " : ".
Please fix.
