Topic: Open letter to veteran corporations

I don't want to name and shame anyone here, so I'll just generally ask the question:

Why do you take newbies to gamma, only to kick them from the corporation shortly after that? Poor guys can't even go back to alpha because the moment they deploy, the neutral-aggressive turrets kill them on sight, throwing them back into the same terminal.

I can only hope this isn't intentional griefing, because this is not the first time I had to move them back to alpha manually.

And yes, I know this is equally a game design fault, because noone should get stuck like that. I'd be really thankful though if you could pay attention when kicking people until we figure something out for this.

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

Zoom, if you're honestly concerned about it you should send private messages to those corp CEOs.

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

TBH, because of the things that were said in gen chat earlier today, this is a bit of an unintentional name and shame tbh, but thats ok, this is not the first time where people have been named and shamed.

M2S, X-23, MAHTI, AXE, N-A, E=MK2 name and shamed during the insurance fraud era in first few months of old release:
http://blog.perpetuum-online.com/posts/ … at-wasn-t/

M2S yet again named and shamed for the duplicating BS that happened half a year into the game's life span:
http://blog.perpetuum-online.com/posts/ … and-green/

So dont worry, intentional or not, there has been incidents of name and shame before, so its all good though!

Reading this signature fills you with determination.

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

Well...  That sounds unintentional.  Like totally unintentional.  You can fix that by bringing back free blood sparking to alpha stations.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

How is this said, without another forced vacation...

If this is considered griefing, then a disconnect is...well...

This isn't OUR problem, this is YOUR problem.  I understand you wishing for us to "let you off the hook" again, but get your stuff together and think long term.

Are we suppose to say, "Dude your getting kicked please peacefully leave your gamma island."  I hope you understand how laughable this is, truly.  Not trying to be a *** this time either, but that is just nuts.

Beast please shut up, attempting to place yourself in the era you know nothing about, and simply repeating what you have overheard makes you look stupid, and attempting to "fit in".

Offense not given.

Man do I want this game to go to the next level, but post like this just seem to make it dawn on me.  Ill ever get out of station either.

I am Perpetuum.

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

Ok to set the record straight, as I was the one to kick this dude from the corp....The dude you were talking about was spying on our corp and was corroborated by an anonymous source.  So, whilst doing my daily squad clean out, I removed him from the squad and corp.  I was unaware until a while later that he was actually AT gamma when he undocked from the station and did damage to out structure while blowing up. There is huge risk to a corp to have an uncorped toon in a gamma structure.  I also re-corped this toon and escorted him to beta, to which he proceeded to sit on the game and not move until he was shot later by someone in our alliance.  We tried, he didnt.

And yes this was the second toon you did this to, the other of which was ALSO spying on our corp.  Perhaps Dev Zoom, you should explain to these fool that spying will get you blown up. Furthermore, this is your problem, not mine that there is no in game mechanic for them to be liberated once kick from a corp.  I am not about to stand around and allow a spy to infiltrate my corp because you are to lazy to develop your game properly.......fix your *** and don't make this my problem.  This was not anywhere remotely close to griefing.......

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

What I can do about it,

if I boot soemebody and he is sadly at Gamma and cant go to Alpha, I just simply will invite him back and let him go to Alpha. After boot him again.

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

Just think for a second. This guy is not a spy I know about and your intentionally keeping him where he cannot play the game based on your paranoia. Considering it happened to you Kayin you should be more understanding..

I remember when I was kicked from ecorp because they thought I was an M2S spy and it wasn't a nice feeling.

It was a bad thing to do but whatever, learn from it and hope its not another guy driven from the game for no reason.

Proverbs 23:20-21 warns us, “Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

an all that just because "blood sparking" a few years back, that was then removed and replaced by an even worse system called "spark teleportation"

why can he still (re)spawn in a terminal without docking rights? shouldn't the game server push him to the next unrestricted NPC terminal? Many outpost owner would be happy to have all those outpost spy alts automatically removed  anyway.

is the ability to "undock in your fully fitted bot to walk away" more important then the integrity of the game?

In a game where me, weedy and Inda have our own terminal chat....  I'd say your asking too much.

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

Lmao.

Btw, thread is quite cringeworthy. To the level of... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unW4GOJw4ro

I believe pvp could be very exciting and the game has what it takes. But this is game is ruined and we all know  by who, it´s by corps like CiR, -77- and PHM. - by Fu ManChu

Actually I'd be pleasantly surprised if someone purchases the game on Steam only to spy on a corporation, as that would mean this is still serious business. (The account is 3 days old.)

I just find it hard to believe, that's all.

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

Zoom,

We reinvited the guy back to corp temporarily.  We provided teleporters and an escort back to alpha who would ensure he got back safely and help with any questions he had about resetting his home base.

After going through great detail to explain to him how teleporters work,  ( which is a bit suspicious considering the guy knew how to work teleports earlier to find our fleets multiple times during PvP engagements ) ,  but yes after explaining to him how to use teleports he subsequently AFK'd mid way through his trip back to Alpha.   We repeated locked/unlocked,  fired warning shots, and sent several messages to try and wake him up.

He was AFK approximately 15 minutes before we had enough of it and blew him up / rekicked him.    He clearly had no interest in getting back to alpha.

What should we have done differently to accommodate him Zoom?   That's a serious question. You've been played Zoom. Just admit it.

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

You know, if you'd institute a REAL API system...  We could have nice things..

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

What are you talking about???  I have bought 3 copies of the game to spy on other corps.  Just sayin', I know I am not the only one who has done this......

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

Kayin: ok, thanks for explaining. I agree that there wasn't much else that you could do.

SunnyJester: if you're serious then I can only say... thank you for your contribution big_smile

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

Instead of trying to change player behaviour, why not fix the broken mechanics. fuuu

RIP PERPETUUM

Re: Open letter to veteran corporations

So in conclusion :

Spy accounts are not unheard of, especially during sale times.

Mechanics should be synchronized to disallow blood sparking into any non accessible stations, be it beta, gamma, and God forbid if alpha mechanics evolve to the point of doing so, alpha.

I hoped they were going to good use but we would certainly appreciate further development.  Also, I thought you said that you moved this person out of the terminal, but to my surprise, he is back in here this morning......
