Topic: Change for the Sake.

Of change.

We are starting to see the beginnings of new things on the test server

All "good" changes, but does this do anything new.   You don't need to take my word for it take theirs.

All I see is recycling content so vets with ~2M EP have somewhere to spend it on instead of speccing for mining.

Guess its easier then making new content. lol

I can quote more if need be, but this sums up exactly what your doing.

Now, I will withhold all righteous judgement until after your supposed "blog" comes through, but for now my face might turn blue.

A 5 day in-forced break can make a game think.

Re: Change for the Sake.

What I would suggest is you make up a sheet stating what ROLES you wish each bot to have, and start tooling them toward that goal.

As the current direction is a straight nerf, which isn't terribly bad, but without a direction its meaningless.

Defined roles will make this game grow and diversify the environment.

Please don't misunderstand me, when I speak of roles I mean general bots, and then specialized bots.  Don't lump them all together as this removes the creative enviroment that you CAN have.

Re: Change for the Sake.

Similar to how Ccp added a tier 3 battle cruiser class that was more specialized but fragile if taken out of their roles. The original bc were balanced so they also fit special roles and that noneof them were a perfect cookie cutter I win button. I'd like to see some new classes of everything lol

Re: Change for the Sake.

Actually if you wish to go by what CCP did, T3 didn't compete with any of the T2 roles.  Any role could be done, on paper, better in a T2 ship, where as T3 would just fall short.  But better at the overall picture, and higher in price.

Specialization allows players to understand there role on the field, and gives them a good direction to move toward, IN a shorter time then running for a jack of all trades roll.

DONT WASTE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO ADD NEW CONTENT THROUGH SPECIALISATION WITH TEPPID TWEAKS TO WHAT EXISTS.

Proverbs 23:20-21 warns us, “Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."

Re: Change for the Sake.

And honestly you have a whole class of weapons (guns) a whole set of tiers of weapons (explained here http://forums.perpetuum-online.com/topi … eriously/) and a whole class of robots (prototype) that just don't get used.

Change all of that and we have different stuff to play with rather than *** with the stuff we already use.

Also bear in mind that you need to look at what this does to Indy and PVE. changing the meta types as suggested and making prototypes be used actually adds content both for PVE as people want the good *** and for Indy as prototype mechs get produced for combat.

Re: Change for the Sake.

I dislike being quoted, but you're collectively wasting your e-breath.

Hungryans don't understand or appreciate the (accidental) fine balance the game had. Don't hold your breath for "direction" or "planning", the patch isn't designed around one fundamental idea - it's just a collection of theorycraft ideas on how the outside hungarian observer believes the game should be played, conjured in that short period of time between his real job and sleep.

Just roll with it and enjoy the ride while it lasts. big_smile
