I disagree. I do think that those same beacons you can use on alpha should drop more plasma on beta however. Perhaps +50%.

Proverbs 23:20-21 warns us, “Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."

They definitely need to do something. The beacons are actually more profitable to do on alpha these days and thats silly.

Re: Distress beacon abuse

when did those "rare" loot drops turn into this primary resource grinding mechanic?

Re: Distress beacon abuse

Great, because that's what we needed, even less content on alpha. Actually there are better ways of incentivise players moving to beta, instead of forcing them, because 80% of players are usually risk averse. No wonder player retention is really low.

Being able to do beacons faster on Alpha then you can on Beta is a problem.

The full risk vs no risk is a problem.

The income is too good for no risk, compared to the penalized income for full risk.

It's no wonder 90% of corporations are living on Alpha.

Beta is a dysfunctional area in the game currently.

I agree with this, just not agree with the solution you mentioned.

We could bring back aoe damage dropping loot on beta. I was never for that idea.

Re: Distress beacon abuse

Heres the problem. Beacons are to easy to get & negate the benefits of normal NPC spawns. They throw out the time it takes to get masses of Loot & plasma, injecting billions of nic into the games economy in a very short amount of time.
ways to fix beacons IMO:
1. limit the amount of beacons you can have active at one time to 1 beacon & make it so that no other beacon can  be activated within 500m(or more) of each other for the duration that beacon is active.

2. Make Beacons harder to acquire.
Make them attainable thru NPCs (aka. dark star ect...) , Saps & beacon escalations only.  Token beacons are  ridiculously easy to get & are self funding.

3.Beacons drop WAY to much T1 loot.

You can not properly balance Beacons by "nerfing" explosion damage. In fact it's the worst way to try to balance beacons that i can think of. Because it doesn't actually "fix" them at all! Instead the DEVs now brake the game play for a sh*t load of mechanics that shouldn't have been effected at in any way.
Explosion damage was a nice little bonus for doing PVE activity on a BETA. The ability to run multiple beacons at the same time was the issues & the ease at which you could get 1000s of beacons.

But hey knee jerk reactions have been the order of the day for the last 4 years & i should stop expecting the DEVs to act any differently roll

True Pros make a Podcast to influence the Devs minds,
The rest of you guys are Hacks tongue

PS. I got my Highways & stopped playing b4 they came in & have never used them! ...... Irony much ? tongue

Re: Distress beacon abuse

I am sure the devs will soon address this issue by removing the ability to use deployable items on alpha.

Sometimes i wonder how young a kid you are.

Re: Distress beacon abuse

Syndic, you guys hit a new low when you started griefing on alpha. You started stealing loot from the cans and you also brought an Intakt Mk2 to steal the NPCs. This is the CIR everybody hates, not because you are oh so uber in PvP.
