Topic: Post Greenlight simple retrospective:

The good:

gc 275 + for 4+ weeks
autopilot
didnt release a bad gamma
lots of fights and stuff for 4-6 weeks
new corps kinda doin stuff

The bad:

Veteran corps easily dominate beta islands with little effort
New players move on to xxxxx steam game
GC back to 100+ (still better than before though)


The Future:

Amsterdam move
Real full Steam release complete with Gamma and Pay shop content
Other highly anticipated content

The bad seems to be in chronological order but in all fairness its true for xyz reasons. Best thing I think could happen in the future is they use the cash to continue hiring and bringing people into the developement and marketing areas. With the move to Amsterdam can you put another 10-15% off for new players? Not sure how steam does their discounts but if there is any way for you to do it frequently I would to bring in growth every 4 week's. Bring out a tutorial phase asap with a small amount of free ep and the rest upon purchase. I have a ton of friends who want to try before they buy and I'm tempted to gift it to them. Problem with me gifting is I feel like when I'm gifted a game I don't quite enjoy it as much even if its a great game. When I invest my own time and money into it I'm much more attatched

One leap forward, several backwards.

Glad to see the servers done with, now if they get another population burst the game will play a bit better.

They just need to work on getting several population spikes in a row rather than one every year (as has been the past).

Also game needs gamma space, but the game doesn't need the old gamma mechanics.  Damned if you do, damned if you don't.


Bottom line: a year ago the game had like 50 active players, a subscription, a busted gamma that had run out of control for too long, and little hope.  That's all changed, even if the population hasn't increased to normal game levels...still a significant improvement.
